<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which has a non-magnetic supporting body that is comparatively inexpensive and has smoothness coated with a resin layer for smoothing, and indicates an excellent carrier-to-noise (C/N) ratio and error rate. <P>SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording medium, as for smoothness in a magnetic layer side of a non-magnetic supporting body, the number of projections having Ra of 10 nm or more and 15 nm or less and a height of 130 nm or more is 10 pieces/mm2 or less, and as for smoothness in a back layer side thereof, the magnetic recording medium has a resin layer having a thickness of 0.2 μm or more and 0.7 μm or less provided in the magnetic layer side of the non-magnetic supporting body having Ra of 15 nm or more and 25 nm or less and P-0 of 200 nm or more and 300 nm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
