A light source unit (100) is provided with: a light source (110); a flexible printed wiring board (120) provided with a wiring layer (122) for mounting the light source (110); and a metal support body (130) to which the flexible printed wiring board (120) is attached, and which facilitates the dissipation of heat. The flexible printed wiring board (120) has a region near to the light source (N), part of which is directly under the light source (110), and a region far from the light source (F), which is separated from the light source (110). The region near to the light source (N) and the region far from the light source (F) are provided so as to be in a state of contact with a first surface and a second surface, respectively, of the metal support body (130). The wiring layer (122) is disposed so as to be distributed to the region near to the light source (N) and the region far from the light source (F).
