A mobile communication device configured with an application and short-range wireless hardware to create a temporary connection with a lottery point-of sale ticket system in order for a player to purchase a lottery game ticket at a remote, but proximate location local to an authorized lottery retailer. A method by which a lottery ticket may be purchased is disclosed. The apparatus and method readily applies to remote purchase of goods or services while a buyer is local to a store having a terminal offering goods or services for sale. |
