The invention relates to a coking plant (1), including a series of coke ovens (2), each oven (2) including a coking chamber provided with side unloading doors (3, 4), said chamber communicating with a riser (5) provided with a coking-gas discharge pipe (7), the discharge pipes (7) of each oven (2) leading into a collecting cylinder (8), which is in turn connected to a coking gas treatment circuit (12,13,14), at least one discharge pipe (7) of one of said ovens (2) further including a means (11) for spraying pressurized liquid onto the wall of said discharge pipe (7), said liquid flowing counter-current with respect to the direction of the flow of the gases exiting the chamber.
