The wedge unit has a base body (10), and a fastening unit for releasable fastening at a circular saw (14) e.g. table circular saw and portable circular saw. The fastening unit is formed by a screw, which is connected with the base body in a loss-proof manner. A securing element secures the fastening unit at the base body. The circular saw is provided with a circular saw blade (20) and a processing plate (22). A workpiece is guided on the processing plate in a processing condition. A main extension plane of the blade is arranged vertical to the main extension plane of the plate.
