PARKING DETECTION DEVICE, PARKING DETECTION METHOD AND PARKING DETECTION PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking detection device, parking detection method and a parking detection program capable of accurately detecting a parking state of each parking space in a parking lot having a large number of parking spaces.

SOLUTION: A parking detection device includes: imaging means for imaging a detection target area including plural parking spaces each having a display pattern written thereon; reference data generation means for generating reference image data through edge extraction processing on an image of the detection target area in a vacant state; target data generation means for generating target image data through edge extraction processing on a target image; correlation rate distribution calculation means for shifting the reference image data within a predetermined range, with the position of the display pattern set as a center, and calculating a correlation rate between the reference image data and the target image data at each of the shifted positions to obtain distribution of the correlation rate at each of the shifted positions as correlation rate distribution; and determination means for determining whether a vehicle is parked on the basis of a characteristic of the correlation rate distribution.
