SENSOR FOR MEASURING TOOL LENGTH

PURPOSE:To measure accurately tool length by providing a slit in the horizontal direction of vertically movable moving member and by detecting with a photosensor the displacement of the slit at the time when a tool is pushed down abutting on the mobile member. CONSTITUTION:A mobile member 13 is stored inside the casing 11 having an opening part 12 on the upper part by projecting a tip backing part 14 from the opening part 12. It is arranged so as to locate the mobile member 13 on the upper part position of the casing 11 at all times by providing elastic member 15 on the lower part of the mobile member 13. A plate member 16 is also fitted to the mobile member 13 in a bloc and plural slits 17-20 in horizontal direction are provided and also a photosensor 22 is to be opposed thereto. This device is placed on a work table, the mobile member 13 is pushed down abutting the reference tool and tool for inspection in order on the tip backing part 14 and by detecting by the photosensor 22 the position displacement of respective slit of that case the length of the tool for inspection is measured.
