<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal material capable of preventing the projection of the seal material from a clearance between an attaching surface and an abutting surface, and an inclination, etc. in a groove. <P>SOLUTION: The annular seal material is attached in an annular seal groove formed on the attaching surface of an attaching member and seals a clearance between the attaching member and an abutting member by being pushed on an abutting surface by introducing fluid from a bottom of the seal groove. The annular seal material includes a body 18 provided with at least a swelling part 12 disposed to be located at an opening side of the seal groove and formed by being swollen to an abutting surface side rather than the attaching surface and a first lip 14 and a second lip 16 disposed to be on a bottom side of the seal groove and extended continuously from the swelling part along a radial inside surface and a radial outside surface of the seal groove in the cross section when the annular seal material is attached in the seal groove. In a corner 30 located at a radial inner peripheral side and/or a radial outer peripheral side of the swelling part, a backup ring 92 for preventing a projection which is formed of a material harder than that of the body is disposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
