<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform rereading for supporting users' interpretation. <P>SOLUTION: The reading-aloud support apparatus includes an instruction reception unit, a document extraction unit, a phrase extraction unit, a detailed attribute acquisition unit, a presentation candidate generation unit, and a candidate presentation unit. The instruction reception unit is configured to receive an instruction of a user to generate an instruction signal. The document extraction unit is configured to extract, as a partial document, a part of a document in a certain range including words which are read aloud when receiving the instruction signal. The phrase extraction unit is configured to perform morphological analysis of a text contained in the partial document and to extract words, or objects of a start position of the rereading, as one or more candidate words. The detailed attribute acquisition unit is configured to acquire attribute information items representing information items including reading candidates relating the candidate words, for every candidate word. The presentation candidate generation unit is configured to perform weighting including a value corresponding to a distance that represents the number of characters from the candidate words to the words read aloud, to determine candidate words to be preferentially presented, and to generate a presentation order.
