<p>Apparatus is for the manufacture of a refractory lining for metallic crucible for the refining of U by the magnesothermic process. The outer shell is filled with a metal core so that there is a space around it into which the refractory may be introduced The core is hollow and carries motors with headpieces on their axis which are eccentrically situated with respect to the core axis so that when the motors are rotated, a controllable imbalance is produced which causes vibration of the core and thus settling of the refractory in the space. May be used for crucibles of large dimensions.</p> |
