A smoke detector system within a large building has a series of ceiling-mounted sensors which are tested at intervals. The test sensor is located either within or directly alongside each smoke sensor. The integral test sensor is a heat detector and gas generator with a sensor. The gas detector has a time switch, and is remotely controlled and electrically activated. The gas generator operates independently of an electricity supply and has a gas cartridge, fluid container, electrical heater and a blower unit. |
