PURPOSE: A safety device of a power trunk system is provided to prevent damages of a body or stuff jammed as an obstacle because the jammed obstacle is detected without measuring a motor load or a speed change by hall sensor. CONSTITUTION: A safety device of a power trunk system comprises a main cable(106), a supporting bracket(111), a switch handling member(112), and a safety switch(113). The main cable is fixed in a car body inside of the trank, thereby being wound in a reeling unit. The supporting bracket is separated from the main cable, thereby supporting a separation cable connected by a hinge of a trank lid. The switch handling member is joined to the cladding of the main cable inserted into the supporting bracket. The switch handling member is transferred on the whole when an obstacle is jammed between the car body and trunk lid by the cladding of the main cable. The safety switch is installed and handled to be on and off by the switch handling member. The safety switch outputs a handling signal for being on by the switch handling member transferred when the obstacle is jammed.
