PURPOSE: A hydrophilic PVDF membrane is provided to ensure excellent water permeability, pressure resistance, and staining resistance. CONSTITUTION: A hydrophilic PVDF membrane comprises PVDF copolymers containing a hydrophilic group. The PVDF copolymer contains 5-50 weight% of hydrophilic group. The hydrophilic group is a sulfonic acid group or carboxyl group. The hydrophilic PVDF membrane is prepared from a polymer solution. The polymer solution contains 5-40 weight% of mixture containing hydrophilic PVDF copolymer and pore controlling agent and 60-95 weight% of solvent. The pore controlling agent is polyvinyl pyrrolidone or polyethylene glycol.
