MEASURING APPARATUS FOR SLAG AND MEASURING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A slag measuring device and method are provided to calculate the thickness of slag from a temperature difference between the slag and molten metal. CONSTITUTION: A slag measuring device comprises a temperature sensing unit(70), a lifting unit(30), and a control unit. The temperature sensing unit has a plurality of sensing units sensing the temperatures of molten metal and slag contained in a ladle. The lifting unit raises and lowers the temperature sensing unit to be submerged in the molten metal. The control unit compares temperature data transmitted from the sensing units, determines two of the sensing units that have a temperature difference over a set value, and determines the distance between the two sensing units as slag thickness.
