<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform more proper route guidance in branch/junction areas on a road. <P>SOLUTION: A navigation device 100 includes a branch/junction area information storage part 22 for storing shape information showing plane shapes of branch/junction areas corresponding to a plurality of branch/junction areas on a road in association with guidance information showing recommended traveling routes corresponding to scheduled traveling routes of a traveling body in the branch/junction areas. This navigation device 100 is configured to: search for branch/junction area information corresponding to the branch/junction areas positioned within a prescribed range from a current location; specify the scheduled traveling routes of the traveling body in the branch/junction areas corresponding to the searched branch/junction area information; specify the guidance information corresponding to the specified scheduled traveling routes; create branch/junction guidance image information for displaying branch/junction guidance images showing the recommended traveling routes in the branch/junction areas on a display screen of a display device based on the specified guidance information and the shape information corresponding to the guidance information; and display the branch/junction guidance images on the display screen of the display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
