<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress decrease in engine rotation speed when starting the engine. <P>SOLUTION: A start control device (100) is mounted on a vehicle (1) including an engine (11) and a motor (12) capable of cranking the engine, and includes a control unit (20) for controlling the motor to crank the engine so as to start the engine. In particular, when the engine is cranked by the motor, the control unit controls at least one of an intake valve (112) and an exhaust valve (113) of the engine so as to continue an open valve state, cancels the open valve state of the at least one valve upon igniting an ignition plug (114) of the engine, and in a period after the open valve state of the at least one valve is canceled and until the initial compression is completed, the control unit controls the motor to increase a torque output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
