A linear lamp (12) is mounted in a socket (16) by inserting the pair of L-shaped lamp pins (29) of the linear lamp (12) into the socket (16) and then rotating the linear lamp (12). The socket (16) is provided with a socket body (41), and also with a pair of terminals (43) and a rotation element (42) which are disposed within the socket body (41). The socket body (41) is provided with a front face section which faces the linear lamp (12) when the linear lamp (12) is mounted in the socket (16). An insertion opening (49) into which the pair of lamp pins (29) can be inserted is formed in a surface which intersects the front face section. An opening section (50) which communicates with the insertion opening (49) and in which the pair of lamp pins (29) can rotate is provided in the front face section. A wall section (54) is provided to the edge of the opening section (50) which faces the insertion opening (49), and the wall section (54) prevents the lamp pins (29) from being inserted into the opening section (50) while the linear lamp (12) is displaced from a predetermined mounting position in the direction separating from the front face section.
