<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery heating apparatus which is capable of sufficiently raising temperature of a storage battery while suppressing the flow of a high current into the storage battery and peripheral devices thereof during heating of the storage battery. <P>SOLUTION: The battery heating device comprises: a resistive element 10 disposed in thermal contact with a storage battery 2 and generating heat by energization; a battery temperature sensor 51 for detecting temperature of the storage battery 2; a DC-DC converter 3 for transforming an input/output voltage of the storage battery 2; and a control device 5 for controlling operation of the DC-DC converter 3. The resistive element 10 has such temperature resistance characteristics that a resistance increases with decrease in temperature of the resistive element 10 itself, and is electrically connected in series with the storage battery 2. When a detected value by the battery temperature sensor 51 is lower than a preset reference temperature, the control device 5 operates the DC-DC converter 3, whereby charge and discharge are repeated between the storage battery 2 and the DC-DC converter 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
