<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition for cans, as an outer coating material for steel three-piece cans and aluminum impact-formed cans, for forming a coating film exhibiting iridescent interference colors. <P>SOLUTION: The coating composition contains: a vapor-deposited aluminum pigment (A) subjected to a hologram surface treatment; a polyvinyl butyral resin (B) or a polyvinyl acetoacetal resin (C); and a solvent (D) that dissolves the polyvinyl butyral resin (B) or the polyvinyl acetoacetal resin (C).
