A radiation therapy device control method according to the present invention comprises the steps of: collecting a planning-time location whereat a patient is positioned during planning; collecting a location alignment-time location whereat the patient is positioned when being location aligned; computing a time of therapy location, a gantry angle offset value, and a ring angle offset value, such that when a ring is positioned shifted by the ring angle offset value from the ring angle and the gantry is positioned shifted by the gantry angle offset value from the gantry angle, the facing whereat an illumination head is positioned with respect to the time of therapy location when the ring is positioned at the ring angle and the gantry is positioned at the gantry angle matches the facing whereat the illumination head is positioned during planning; and positioning the patient in the patient position. It is thus possible to compute the patient position such that the degree of rotation when moving the patient from the location whereat the patient is positioned when being location aligned to the time of therapy location is minimized.
