<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concept of more efficient coding of audio signals using time warping. <P>SOLUTION: A spectral representation of an audio signal having consecutive audio frames can be derived more efficiently, when a common time warp is estimated for any two neighbouring frames, such that warp information can be can additionally used in a following block transformation. Thus, window functions required to successfully apply a procedure added in an overlapping manner during reconstruction can be derived and applied, the window functions having already anticipated re-sampling of the signal by time warping.
