<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which when performing fallback processing within limited free memory, minimizes a time for compression after waiting for a free memory is finished, even when a compressibility is high. <P>SOLUTION: The image processor which generates image data from drawing information and thereafter compresses the image data to store in a memory determines whether the data capacity of the image data exceeds a difference value between a free capacity which can be secured in the memory and a first threshold determined from a memory capacity usable in the memory (S404). When a CPU determines that the difference value from the first threshold is exceeded, background compressed data is not stored in the memory and a compression part performs idle compression processing which compresses the image data (S405). When the CPU does not determine that the difference value from the first threshold is exceeded, the idle compression processing by the compression part is not performed and the background compressed data is stored in the memory (S406). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
