<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new process for producing α-ketocarboxylic acid. <P>SOLUTION: The process for producing an α-ketocarboxylic acid includes a step of oxidizing an α-ketoaldehyde by mixing a compound expressed by formula (2-1), a base, carbon dioxide and the α-ketoaldehyde. In formula (2-1), R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>each independently represent an alkyl group optionally having a substituent or an aryl group optionally having a substituent; Y represents a group expressed by -S- or -N(R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>)-; R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>represents an alkyl group optionally having a substituent or an aryl group optionally having a substituent; and X<SP POS="POST">-</SP>represents an anion. In the formula, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>may be coupled to form a divalent hydrocarbon group optionally having a substituent or a group expressed by -CH=N- optionally having a substituent; and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>may be coupled to form a divalent hydrocarbon group optionally having a substituent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
