A useful method for manufacturing a press-formed article by press-forming a thin steel sheet using a punch and die. In said method, press-forming is started after the thin steel sheet is heated to a temperature greater than or equal to the Ac3 transformation point thereof, and the thin steel sheet is formed such that the temperature differential therein is no greater than 200°C when said thin steel sheet has reached one third of a forming height. This results in a press-formed article with formability good enough so as to allow deep drawing without making the mold complicated.
