<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that has an excellent cleaning effect by preventing blade curling due to sudden frictional force caused at the startup of rotation of a photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor drum 11; a charging roller 12 disposed in contact with the surface of the photoreceptor drum 11 and used for uniformly charging the surface of the photoreceptor drum 11 with a voltage applied from a power source 22, the voltage comprising DC voltage and AC voltage superposed thereon; and a cleaning blade 15 disposed in contact with the photoreceptor drum 11 and used for scraping developer remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor drum 11 after transfer.
