<p>Provision of additional swivel mounted gripping devices is for the long work-pieces such as rods, tubes, billets in a conductive heating installation comprising resistance heating by electrodes pressed against the workpiece, and vertically displaceable supports fitted with flexible support pads. The gripping devices are fitted to these pillars. The function of the pref. scissor type, gripping devices is to sever the electrodes from the workpiece after the direct resistance heating operation, where sticking between workpiece and electrodes may occur.</p> |
