The application is to d.c. voltage divider or transformers employing a transistor as a switching element. A pulse generator (G) providing the switching pulses is transformer coupled (Ug) to the base and emitter (b1, e1) terminals. These are connected to one secondary winding terminal (k1) through a resistor (r1) and to a winding tap (k2). A switch, typically a thyristor (S1), is across the whole winding (k1, k3) and is under the control of the regulator (21, 22) through a transformer (Uz). If the switching transistor has to be turned off as part of the regulating process the regulator triggers the thyristor thus short circuiting the pulse transformer secondary winding thereby reducing the base-emitter voltage. A field effect transistor can be used in place of the thyristor. The circuit can readily be adapted for multiple outputs and bridge connections. |
