SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CALCULATING LENGTH OF TRAIN

PURPOSE: A train length computation system and method are provided to prevent the rear-end collision of a train in beforehand by accurately establishing an automatic train guard zone. CONSTITUTION: A first cap antenna(410) is installed in the first vehicle(402) of a train(406). The first cap antenna is separated from the tip of the first vehicle at a prescribed distance(Dx). A second cap antenna(420) is installed in the second vehicle(404) of the train. The first cap antenna and the second cap antenna wirelessly communicate with a transponder(430). The first cap antenna and the second cap antenna transmit identifying information of the transponder received from the transponder to a cap signaling device(450).
