SLIDING BEARING FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND SEMI-CYLINDRICLA BEARING

PURPOSE: A sliding bearing and a semi-cylindrical bearing for an internal combustion engine are provided to restrict foreign materials trapped between a crank shaft and a sliding bearing by allowing the foreign materials to deviate from an axial groove and move along an inner peripheral bearing surface. CONSTITUTION: A sliding bearing(10) for an internal combustion engine comprises a pair of semi-cylindrical bearings(20,30). A circumferential oil groove(22) is extended in a circumferential direction on the inner peripheral surface(20a) of one of the semi-cylindrical bearings. An axial groove(A) is formed by an inclined surface(26) of the sliding bearing along the circumferential section(24a,24b) of one or both of the semi-cylindrical bearings. The circumferential oil groove and the axial groove are communicated with each other and have different depths in a communicating part. The bottom of the circumferential oil groove is displaced toward the inner peripheral bearing surface from the bottom of the axial groove. The cross section of the circumferential oil groove is greater than that of the axial groove in the communication part.
