The mechanism (1) has partial display parts (2A, 2B) including continuous covering mechanisms covering a total range of variation of physical quantity and arranged to move movable indicators (4A, 4B) based on the total range. The display part comprises masking units arranged to make visible of the indicator facing towards scales (5A, 5B) representing partial ranges (3A, 3B) and to reduce or cancel visibility of the indicator. The covering mechanisms of the display part are synchronous with each other. An independent claim is also included for a timepiece comprising a movement part arranged to drive a set of covering mechanisms.
