ISOXAZOLO-PYRIDINE DERIVATIVES

Disclosed is an isoxazole-pyridine derivative compound of formula I having affinity and selectivity for the GABA A alpha5 binding site, wherein the substituents are as described within the specification. Examples of the disclosed compounds include: N-Isopropyl-6-(5-methyl-3-phenyl-isoxazol-4-ylmethoxy)-nicotinamide; and (1,1-Dioxo-1 lambda 6-thiomorpholin-4-yl)-{ 6-[3-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-5-methyl-isoxazol-4-ylmethoxy]-pyridin-3-yl} -methanone. Further disclosed is a medicament containing a compound of formula I, and the use of a compound of formula I for the preparation of a medicament useful as a cognitive enhancer or for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease.
