<p>1281716 Polymer granules as carriers for biologically active substances CIBA-GEIGY AG 18 July 1969 [25 July 1968 14 April 19691 36290/69 Headings A5B and ASE [Also in Division C1] A granular high polymer selected from ureaformaldehyde condensation products and polyacrylonitriles having a specific inner surface of from 10 to 250 m<SP>2</SP>/g is used as a carrier for a biologically active substance, such as a herbicide, insecticide, nematocide, bactericide, fungicide, parasiticide, rodenticide, anthelmintic, coccidiostat, feed additive, growth regulator, plant growth regulant, fertilizer, bait, repellant or chemosterilizer. Active substances used in the examples or claimed are:- monocrotophos; diorotophos; phosphamidon; dichlorvos; N,N-diisobutyl and dipropyl-S-propyl dithiocarbamates; N,N-dimethallyl-S-propyl dithiocarbamate; 2,4-dichloro-4'-nitrodiphenyl ether; 2, 4' - dinitro - 4 - trifluoromethyldiphenyl ether; 2, 4' - dinitro - 4 - trifluoromethyl - 3' - methyl - diphenyl ether; MCPA - Na salt; O - ethyl - O - (2, 5 - dichloro - 4 - iodophenyl) - ethyl thionophosphonate; ortho - [1, 3 - dithiolan - 2 -yl] - phenyl - N, N - dimethyl carbamate; and O, O - dimethyl - O - [2, 5 - dichloro - 4 - iodophenyl] - thiophosphate. Numerous other pesticides are listed as active substances, in particular:- antibiotics, ureas, triazines, hydroxy compounds, carboxylic acid derivatives, anilides, organometallic compounds, and carbamates. Active substances with pharmaceutical activity may be selected from thiabendazole; phenothiazine; tetramisole; 2, 5 - dichloro - 4 - nitro - salicylic amide; DDVP; piperazine derivatives; ampoulium; buquinolate; sulphaquinoxaline; sulphamethaizne; zoalene; quinoline derivatives; 2, 6 - dimethyl - 3, 5 - dichloro - 4 - hydroxy - pyridine; antibiotics; hormones; nitrofurans; arsenic compounds; and vitamins.</p> |
