<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for image of interest and a display method for image of interest that extract and display image information of high attention degree based upon human visual characteristics among many monitoring images. <P>SOLUTION: The display device for image of attention includes a parameter setting part, an image information acquisition part, an attention degree calculation part, a display screen information generation part, and a display part. The parameter setting part sets, as parameters, items indicative of features of image information of high attention degree based upon human visual characteristics. The image information acquisition part acquires a plurality of image information to be monitored. The attention degree calculation part calculates attention degrees of the respective pieces of image information acquired by the image information acquisition part based upon the parameters set by the parameter setting part. The display screen information generation part extracts a predetermined number of pieces of image information having high attention degrees calculated by the attention degree calculation part, and generates display screen information for displaying the extracted image information.
