PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for a defect of a honeycomb filter that improves detection precision of the defect more.

SOLUTION: As an embodiment of the present invention, the inspection method for the defect of the honeycomb filter includes the processes of: producing particles P; transporting gas including the particles P to a mixer 40 through piping 30; mixing the gas including the particles P with other gas in the mixer 40 to obtain mixed gas; supplying the mixed gas in the mixer 40 to one end face 110b of the honeycomb filter 100; and detecting a concentration distribution of particles P in gas discharged from the other end face 110t of the honeycomb filter 100.
