LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE, AND LIGHTING SYSTEM EQUIPPED WITH LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE AND PROJECTION TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of improving a light use efficiency by suppressing the generation of backscattered light, and to provide a lighting system equipped with the light source device and a projection type display device.

SOLUTION: This light source device includes: a light tunnel member 4 that guides light entering from a light incidence opening 401 to a light emission opening 402 while reflecting it at the inner surface of a light guide route; and a light deflecting element 3 that allows the light of a light source 1 to enter from the light incidence opening 401 of the light tunnel member 4 to the interior of the light guide route. Phosphor layers 403 and 404 are provided at parts of a region where the incident light from the light incidence opening 401 can reach in the inner surface of the light tunnel member 4. The light deflecting element 3 is configured so as to change over the incidence direction of the light entering from the light incidence opening 401 to the interior of the light guide route, between a direction heading for a region where the phosphor layers are provided and a direction heading for a region where no phosphor layers are provided.
