<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling toy which prevents the rotation of a rotating body when a toy body is lifted, even if an advancing direction of the toy body can be automatically altered when the advancement is blocked by an obstruction, and which travels on a course. <P>SOLUTION: The traveling toy 10 includes the toy body 1 equipped with a motor M, a rotating shaft 42 rotating by the power of the motor M, the rotating body 5 which has the rotating shaft 42 inserted in a manner to relatively rotate and can rotate horizontally along with the rotation of the rotating shaft 42, a driving wheel 7 which is supported by the rotating body 5 and drives with the rotation of the rotating shaft 42, and an idling wheel 6 supported by the toy body 1, wherein the traveling toy is configured such that the rotating body 5 rotates when the advancement is blocked by the obstruction to alter the advancing direction of the toy body 1.
