PURPOSE: A refrigerator and a silver care system using a refrigerator are provided to transmit a warning signal to children of a user or an administrator in case that an usage pattern is detected as abnormal through checking an opening/closing frequency of a refrigerator door. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator and a silver care system using a refrigerator comprise a refrigerator(1), a operation detecting device, a control unit, a communication device, a server(40), and an output device(50). A storage of a refrigerator is opened and closed by a door. The operation detecting device is installed in the refrigerator and detects a manipulation of a user. The control unit counts input signals of operation detecting device for a set up time. If the counted input signals are less than a set up number, the control unit generates the warning signal. The communication device transmits the warning signal generated by the control unit. The server receives the warning signal transmitted from the communication device, thereby transmitting the warning signal to a set up user. The output device outputs the warning signal transmitted by the server.
