CRAWLER TYPE RUNNING GEAR AND METHOD FOR RIDING OVER STEP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily ride over steps even when tractive force by a crawler is weak in a running gear employing a flipper type crawler.

SOLUTION: A running gear includes a body 1 and a crawler unit 2 arranged in front and rear parts of the body 1. The crawler unit 2 comprises a moving body, a pair of crawlers 20 supported by the right and left of the moving body, a first driving means for rotating drive wheels 22 of the crawlers 20 to turn a crawler belt 24 and a second driving means for swinging the whole of the crawlers 20 around an axis line of the drive wheel. The running gear includes a guide means 50 supporting the moving body so as to be slidable in the front-rear direction with respect to the body 1 and a moving means forcing the moving body to move in the front-rear direction with respect to the body 1 to adjust a position of the whole of the crawler unit 2 in the front-rear direction with respect to the body 1.
