<p>The invention relates to a method for characterising dielectric properties of an electrochemical system, which includes applying (34) an oscillatory electrical disturbance to said electrochemical system, measuring (36) a response of said electrochemical system to said electrical disturbance, and determining (38, 40) parameters characteristic of said dielectric properties of said electrochemical system. Said method is characterised in that the determination (38, 40) of said characteristic parameters includes the steps of expressing said response in the form of a non-linear periodic response signal, in the general form of x(t) = x0 + ?1 cos(F(t) - p0), where F(t) is the phase of said signal, and of determining dielectric parameters characterising the non-linear nature of said response signal.</p> |
