<p>Provided is a triarylmethane compound capable of providing a colored item having minimal hue variation over a long time period despite irradiation with light and despite a thermal history at high temperatures, and capable, for example, of providing a high-luminance liquid crystal display device or the like that can produce a liquid crystal display having excellent luminance over a long time period even under high temperatures and irradiation with light when used to prepare a blue pixel part of a color filter. Also provided is a color filter containing the triarylmethane compound in such a blue pixel part. The triarylmethane compound is a heteropolyoxometalate anion in which the counter anion of a basic triarylmethane dye cation is represented by the formula (P2MoyW18-yO62)6-/6, where y is an integer of 1, 2, or 3; and the color filter contains the triarylmethane compound in the blue pixel part.</p> |
