<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous resin for a coating material affording excellent stain resistance and water resistance to the coating film, and whose stain resistance sustains for a long period of time; and to provide a water-based coating material having excellent stain resistance and water resistance, and whose stain resistance sustains for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The aqueous resin for a coating material includes a polymer (A) obtained by copolymerizing a monomer mixture of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a1) having an amino group, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a2) having an alkoxysilyl group, and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a3) having a carboxy group, and an aqueous polymer (B) having a carbodiimide group. In 100 mass% of the monomer mixture, the content of the monomer (a1) is 5.00-95.00 mass%, the content of the monomer (a2) is 0.01-5.00 mass%, and the content of the monomer (a3) is 0.50-20.00 mass%; and the ratio of the number of moles of the carbodiimide group on the aqueous polymer (B) to the number of moles of the carboxy group in the monomer (a3) is 0.28-3.20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
