<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic composite for wavelength conversion, which can be further improved in the light emission intensity and the heat conductivity as a ceramic composite, and can achieve the elongation or the life of a light emitting diode and the like to be used. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic composite 1 is constituted of inorganic materials having a matrix phase 3 composed of a translucent ceramic and a phosphor phase composed of YAG containing Ce, wherein the content of the phosphor phase 5 is ≥22 and ≤55 vol.% in terms of volume ratio in the whole phase containing the matrix phase and the phosphor phase; the content of Ce in the YAG is ≥0.005 and ≤0.05 in terms of atomic ratio (Ce/Y) to Y; and the thickness in the light outgoing direction is ≥30 and ≤200 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
