PURPOSE: A device for transferring data by cable/wireless switching with a directional sector antenna and a method thereof are provided to switch wireless data transfer through a device or an RF antenna or cable data transfer between the device and a transfer cable by connecting a switching module with the directional sector antenna. CONSTITUTION: When a switching module(120) is not connected to a directional sector antenna(130), a control module(140) generates a first switching signal to connect the switching module with a USB(Universal Serial Bus) cable. When the switching module is connected to the directional sector antenna, a second switching signal for connecting the switching module with the directional sector antenna is generated. When information transmission with a wireless computing device(50) ends, the control module applies an antenna rotation signal to the directional sector antenna.
