<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an engine capable of correctly troubleshooting a particulate filter. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device of an engine includes: the particulate filter 14 provided in an exhaust passage 6 of the engine 2; a filter recycling means 33 for removing exhaust particulates deposited in the particulate filter 14 for recycling the particulate filter 14; and a filter capacity detecting means 34 for detecting a value regarding collecting capacity of the exhaust particulates of the particulate filter 14. A difference (X2-X1) between a number during filter recycling and a value not during the recycling regarding the collecting capacity of the exhaust particulates of the particulate filter 14 is calculated, and when the difference (X2-X1) is smaller than a predetermined threshold value, the particulate filter 14 is determined to have a failure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
