<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems : it is very troublesome to select a device to be monitored in a large-scale environment in which there are many devices on the network; moreover, there is a possibility that a user erroneously selects a device for which some monitoring has been already performed as an object to be newly monitored, thereby performing overlapped management; and in the worst case where this device is made an object to be monitored, the existing monitoring setting is overwritten on the device so that the device is removed from the monitoring object. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device of the present invention has a function to change information on a transmission destination of monitoring information in response to an inquiry from a monitoring device, and returns a response to the monitoring device indicating that it has a function to change information on the transmission destination when determining that monitoring has not been performed by a different monitoring device. The image forming device receives a request for change of the information on the transmission destination from the monitoring device, and changes the transmission destination of the monitoring information to be the monitoring device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
