<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily improve security strength, while keeping downward compatibility, of communication security between a communication device and a management device in operating a plurality of CAs issuing certificates having different formats or corresponding to different authentication processing. <P>SOLUTION: When the correctness of a certificate can not be confirmed because confirmation data (certificate authority public key certificate) in a storage unit do not correspond to an issue source of the certificate from an image formation device 20, a mediation device 80 transmits identification information of the own device and information of a second CA 60 which is the issue source of the certificate from the image formation device 20 to a first management device 30; requests the first management device 30 to acquire an update certificate of the own device; and stores the certificate of the own device issued by the issue source shown by the information transmitted to the first management device 30 and the confirmation data for confirming the correctness of the certificate issued by the issue source, which are given from the first management device 30 according to the request, into the storage unit as a new certificate and confirmation data to be used for authentication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
