[Also in Division B3] A socket wrench has splines disposed circumferentially around the central axis and engageable with a nut or bolt having a complementary splined surface, the splines comprise a plurality of similar profiles extending radially between the arcs of concentric circles 130, 132 and having confronting lateral boundaries 137, 138 subtending an arc 146 of a larger angle at the outer radial extremity than the angle of the arc 139 subtended at the inner radial extremity such that the boundaries 137, 138 of each profile diverge radially outwards at such an angle that adjacent lateral boundaries 137, 138 of consecutive profiles converge radially outwardly. The angle C at which the boundaries of the profiles diverge outwardly is approximately 45 degrees. The angle D between each lateral boundary and a radial line passing through the inter-section of the line along which that lateral boundary extends, and the arc of the circle 130 is 14- 15 degrees.
