Crosslinked gelatine - using combination of halotriazine and 1,4-diazodicyclo(2,2,2)octane

Gelatine is crosslinked by treating with combination of 1,4-diazodicyclo(2,2,2)octane and a halotriazine of formula (I): (where R and R1 are each 1-3C alkyl or the gp. (CH2)n-O-R2; and R2 is (m)ethyl and n is 1 or 2). A high degree of crosslinking is obtained rapidly with the combination of cpds. with e.g. gelatine-silver halide emulsion layers.
