1315217 2-Ethylhexanol BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 29 Sept 1970 [30 Sept 1969] 46161/70 Heading C2C 2-Ethylhexanol is made by hydrogenating 2- ethylhex-2-en-1-ol, at from 70-220‹ C. and under 20-100 atmos. in the presence of a fixedbed hydrogenation catalyst in a trickling reaction zone, with recycling of some of the formed crude 2-ethylhexanol such that the linear flow rate of the combined feed and recycle is maintained at 20-100 m./hr. through the catalyst.
