PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a lighting apparatus are provided to reuse a member by arranging the member with a structure which is able to be detached/attached from/to a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A substrate(102) has light transmissive properties. A solid light emitting device(100) is located on one surface of the substrate. The solid light emitting device includes a light emitting region which has a refractive index of 1.6 or greater. A member(103) which has a refractive index is 1.6 or greater is located on the other surface of the substrate. The refractive index of a liquid crystal layer(104) which has light transmissive properties is 1.6 or greater.
